40-bar strathspey for three couples in a three-couple longwise set
1-12 1st, 2nd and 3rd couples dance a pick-up / drop-off chain in which the number of couples involved increases from one to three during bars 1-6 and decreases from three to one during bars 7-12. The order is 3, 1, 2.
13-16 3rd and 1st couples dance four hands once round to the left.
17-20 3rd, 1st and 2nd couples set and link for three to finish in lines of three across the dance, 1st man between 2nd couple facing down and 1st woman between 3rd couple facing up.
21-24 All three couples set and link for three again to finish in the order 2, 1, 3, with all three couples on opposite sides.
25-28 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples set and link for three a third time to again finish in lines of three across the dance, this time with 1st woman between 3rd couple facing down and 1st man between 2nd couple facing up. 2nd and 3rd couples are still on oposite sides.
29-32 1st couple petronella turn to 2nd place opposite side, then 3rd, 1st and 2nd couples, giving right hands to partner, change places.
33-40 1st and 2nd couples dance an all round poussette.
Repeat from new positions.
